Chad Reed revealed exclusively on Title 24 with Ricky Carmichael that the rumours of him running a race team are true and he did not rule out it could done with support from NBA legend, Michael Jordan, one of the biggest sports stars in history which would be a huge boost for SMX as a brand.
Chad said: “Where there is smoke there is fire. I love going to the races, I’m the retired guy that misses all those things. I don’t miss racing, it’s strange, I thought when I retired I would miss racing the most but the normalness of packing a bag on Thursday and going to the Supercross races. I haven’t been around my family for 25 years, the racing community is my family.
“Not specifically on Jordan, (if) Jordan would be a partner I would absolutely love (it) and be super-stoked, but there is multiple people I am talking too with the hope and a goal of going racing with team in 2028. I am reading things we are leasing factory Hondas…I can promise you I will mot be involved in a team that is leasing any equipment! We will run a race team at the highest level and we will find partners that want to win races and go to the top. If that’s Michael Jordan aligned with a manufacturer, that’s the goal.
“I love it, I have kid that loves it and wants to do, a family that supports all things racing, we are planning 2028.”
