Alessandro Lupino completes last full MXGP World Championship season

Alessandro Lupino has revealed that the 2023 MXGP World Championship was his last full season racing in MXGP. The Italian has had a superb career of Grand Prix racing the last 17 years riding for a host of teams such as De Carli Yamaha, Factory Kawasaki, Assomotor Honda, Gebben Racing and Factory Beta he completed his last season with.

“I’m not good with social media or making posts, but I wanted to tell you: After 17 years of World Championships and 224 GPs disputed, yesterday I finished my last full season in the World Championships with a nice P14/P12. I can only be proud of my career. This will not be a goodbye but a see you later! THANK YOU everyone for the beautiful messages you are sending me”, Lupino revealed on social media. 

It is thought that Lupino’s next step will be to sign with Ducati Racing who will move into the Motocross world in 2024 with the Italian expected to be a big part of the development of the bike. He will most likely race the Italian championship and selected MXGP events.
