RUMOUR: Jarne Bervoets and Simone Mancini heading to Cat Moto Bauerschmidt KTM for 2027?

Cat Moto Bauerschmidt KTM are already putting plans in place for the 2027 season, with the team already announcing they will step up to the MX2 World Championship with Liam Owens. However, the team will also remain committed to the EMX250 Championship, where they are expected to field two riders.

We understand that Belgian talent Jarne Bervoets and Italian rider Simone Mancini are set to form a fresh EMX250 line-up under the Cat Moto Bauerschmidt KTM awning for the upcoming season.

Bervoets set for second EMX250 season

Bervoets spent his rookie EMX250 campaign with the officially supported VHR Racing Yamaha team. Having spent several years racing Yamaha machinery, the Belgian is now expected to make the switch to KTM for his second season in the highly competitive EMX250 category.

With a full season in the class behind him, Bervoets will be hoping to take a step forward in 2027. The experience gained during his rookie campaign should put him in a stronger position to challenge towards the front of the field, as he looks to establish himself as a regular contender.

A move to Cat Moto Bauerschmidt KTM could provide the Belgian with the platform he needs to make that progress and continue his development.

Mancini to get his chance with a proven brand?

It has been a challenging period for Mancini since making the step up to the EMX250 championship. The Italian spent time racing for Fantic before switching to Ducati, but his move to the EMX250 class has not gone entirely to plan.

During his time with Fantic, Mancini suffered a number of DNFs, while racing a stock Ducati during the 2026 season was far from ideal. Despite those challenges, he showed flashes of speed and managed to secure a podium finish in Switzerland, proving that he has the potential to compete towards the front.

However, consistency has been an issue, and Mancini will be keen to put that right next season.

A potential move to Cat Moto Bauerschmidt KTM would give the Italian an opportunity to race KTM machinery, with a proven brand which could potentially provide the opportunity he needs to unlock his full potential.

If the rumour proves to be correct, it could be an important move for Mancini as he looks to turn his flashes of speed into more consistent results in the EMX250 Championship.

Cat Moto Bauerschmidt KTM building for 2027

With Liam Owens set to lead the team’s new MX2 World Championship programme, retaining a strong presence in EMX250 will allow Cat Moto Bauerschmidt KTM to continue developing young talent across the European and world championship paddocks.

Bervoets and Mancini would bring different experiences to the team, but both will be looking to make progress in 2027 and establish themselves as front runners in the EMX250 category.

For now, we will await official confirmation from the team. However, all indications suggest that Cat Moto Bauerschmidt KTM could line up with Bervoets and Mancini in EMX250 next season.
