Yago Martinez secures an EMX250 ride

It’s recently been announced that Yago Martinez and the Ghidinelli Fantic Racing team had decided to part ways which left the young Spaniard without a ride.

However, it hasn’t took him long to secure a new deal after inking a deal with SB KTM which will see him race the EMX250 series in Portugal this weekend. The SB KTM team have been on the look out for another rider after Chris Mills parted ways with the team and decided to snap up Martinez who will partner Miguel de Waal under the awning.

“I wasn’t entirely happy with certain team points and I couldn’t feel fast on the 2 strokes. Just after leaving the Fantic team, Andre, the coach of KTM SB, wrote me on WhatsApp, he explained to me the deal. I had no doubt to sign that contract. The team looks really professional and that is what I was looking for”, Martinez told GateDrop.com. 

“Today I rode on track with my new bike, and… it’s crazy,  the bike looks amazing and feels great to be back on a KTM. The goals for Portugal is be on top in each session. I’m really happy, because I know that now I have nice people behind me, also I have a good bike to be at the front, so looking forward to the next race this weekend”, concluded Martinez.
