Video: Jago Geerts costly crashes in Italy

Jago Geerts didn’t have a good day at Arco despite showing some great pace. A bad qualifying meant bad starts which meant lead to crashes and a damaged bike in moto two which cost him vital championship points as Tom Vialle went 1-1 on the day to go into the championship lead.

“A disappointing result. However, I felt the fastest man on track. But I had a poor gate pick after a terrible qualifying race on Saturday. My first race was very good. I was able to make up a lot of places in the first laps and managed to finish third. At the end, I even set the fastest lap of the race, which gave me a boost for the second race. Again, I made up a lot of places in the initial phase, but then made two mistakes in a short time. The second mistake was a big one. I lost the rear wheel on the step down and hit the ground hard. My front brake was jammed and I couldn’t take any championship points, so I decided to pull out of the race. Of course it’s a pity that I lost the red plate, but it’s not a disaster. The season is still very long”, Geerts stated in a press release.
