Video: Distraught Davies consoled by factory 450 riders after Deegan take-out!

Cole Davis was understandably upset after leading all of the 250 main event in Colorado until two laps to go when Haiden Deegan forced it up the inside and put Davies over the berm. Not only did that cost Davies the win but also remaining hope of a rookie championship with Deegan clinching his first supercross title thanks to the move.

If Davies had held on he would have been 14 back heading into the East/West shootout where anything could happen.

A distraught Davies sat on the side of the track to gather his emotions and it was there that an empathetic Aaron Plessinger, Dylan Ferrandis, teammate Justin Cooper and Colt Nichols, all took time to go over to Cole and offer their support in a tough moment for 17 year old rookie supertalent.

All four know what it takes to win a 250 SX title and how hard it is to lose as well. A classy move from all four gentlemen just before their own race, something that Cole will always appreciate and never forget.

Davies didn’t even blame Deegan after saying: “I got caught up on some lappers, that’s on me, I shouldn’t have put myself in that position. I will be back. I could have been better and shouldn’t have put myself in that position.

Deegan said: “I want to congratulate Cole, he is riding really good. Two laps to go I wanted the win – I was going to do anything for it. I saw an opening and took the chance. This means a lot (on the title). Coming in people doubted me and thought I was all hype coming into supercross and motocross. They are just mad that I’m him and if you don’t like it you can suck it!
