Haiden Deegan understandably lost his temper as a rookie title opportunity looks to have slipped through his grasp when his Star Yamaha bike expired just as he was chasing Hunter Lawrence down for second place at Unadilla in moto one.
If he had finished there he would only be five points back heading into moto two but is now 36 back and down to fourth in the championship, after a maddening rule in the US that means you start moto two based on where you finished moto one, not your qualification result! Deegan had 38th pick and came through to tenth in moto two, losing even more points and it consequently looks like the damage is done for his title hopes.
