Eli Tomac was asked in the post-race SMX press conference if he would replace Chase Sexton if the KTM rider is injured after being landed on by Justin Barcia accidently.
Tomac said: “Well, I mean, it’s gonna be a discussion that’s gonna be had over the next couple of days, but right now, it’s an unknown”.
If Tomac doesn’t go DeCoster said team USA might pull out of the event burt the aforementioned Barcia is in England for the following weekend’s Weston beach race, surely could be an option and Pierce Brown just won the 250 class at SMX…
Let’s see what happens from here but it looks like Roger only wants to go if he has a rider of Sexton or Tomac’s calibre so the US still have a big shot at the win.
All of America will have their fingers crossed Eli says yes if Sexton can’t make the trip and Lewis Phillips is hearing Tomac may well be coming to rescue America!
UPDATE: It has now been confirmed Eli Tomac will indeed race Matterley Basin MXoN. More here.
I hear that Eli is likely in for the MXoN.
