The Yates stay within the sport – VRD Motorsport

At the end of 2023, the Yates were preparing to enter the MXGP paddock again after agreeing a deal with GasGas to bring Revo back to MXGP. Sadly, it never worked out but the good news is that they will be staying within the sport.

They will now be involved in motocross tuning and service facility named VRD Motorsport.

We’ve had 100’s of messages questioning the change of name and different logos. So here it is.

The team at VRD consisting of Sam and Mark Yates, Michael Freed and Scott Bredda have joined forces to bring you the most experienced and comprehensive motocross tuning and service facility in the country. All of our race engines will also be built and developed utilising our in house Performance parts brand – mxology.

Full details and a promotional video will be coming in the next couple of weeks. Business resumes as usual but in a much larger and more efficient way. Get in touch to see how we can help.

Sam Yates

Motocross mechanic and engine builder with over 10 years experience building race engines at Grand Prix level. With numerous championship wins at British and European level, his experience is un matched.

Mark Yates

Founder of Revo and team owner of multiple Grand Prix and British motocross teams, mark has developed and manufactured world renowned race engines and bespoke components that have been proven at British, European and American pro level racing, as well as multiple championship and race wins in British saloon car racing.

Michael Freed

Founder of MFR Performance Michael brings years of experience in building national and European proven 2 stroke race engines and cylinder head porting. The combined experience within the team allows VRD to offer all aspects of motocross tuning and maintenance services available, all in house under at our Daventry based facility.

Scott Bredda

Scott plays a vital role in the design and development of our in house parts brand mxology. Scott, a well known race design engineer has worked on many world wide projects for the likes of Honda moto3, F1 and many more and is responsible for the design of Piston, valve train and many other aspects in creating cutting edge performance packages.
