Team Ireland riders announced for Ernee MXoN


Ireland have announced their riders for the 2023 MXoN event which heads to Ernee, France in October. Martin Barr has been selected as the MXGP rider with Jason Meara in the OPEN class and Glenn McCormick in the MX2 category. It will be McCormick’s first ever time representing Ireland at the MXoN despite knocking on the door for many years.

It means Stuart Edmonds, who has served Ireland so well at the event for so many years has been left out of the main rider line up but has been selected as the reserve rider.

The Irish Motocross Commission met last evening Wednesday 9th August at 8pm to discuss this year’s event.

The team was chosen by Team Manager (Mark Mooney) The event will take Place in “Ernee” France between Friday 6th of October / Saturday 7th / Sunday 8th:

MXGP (Martin Barr)
MX OPEN (Jason Meara)
MX2 (Glenn McCormick)
Reserve (Stuart Edmonds)

Mark Mooney: I believe this is the best possible Team to Represent Ireland on the world stage. It’s such an unbelievable event to be a part of and a great honour for us all. The Goal for 2023 is to make it through to the A Final on Sunday and get a top 15 result. I have spoken to each of the selected riders and have full confidence that I will get 100% commitment from all involved. Please get behind the Team and show them your support.
