Team GB Junior World Championship programme gets invaluable support

The promotion, support and awareness of the 2023 Team GB World Junior programme got off to a cracking start last Tuesday, the 11th of April, with a popular ride day at Fatcat Moto Parc.

Team Manager Dave Willet, organised the event – the first of its kind – to give an opportunity for young racers and their parents to get together, have fun and build a strong community. Riders were split into groups to allow them to get the most out of their track time and hone their skills in a safe environment. Feedback confirms that this mission was achieved.

Stars from the world of motocross turned up to help support the day and share their extensive experience and expertise with the gathered youngsters. Three-time MX2 World Vice-Champion, four-time British Champion, and British Arenacross champion Tommy Searle, together with multi-talented Welsh racer Glen Phillips, and top racers Ashley Wilde and Lee Dunham all gave up their time to help out and inspire the young racing stars of the future.

For Willet, it was the first of many incentives he plans for the UK’s youth racers; “We’d like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who made the first Team GB JWC day a memorable one. Your presence and enthusiasm were truly appreciated, and it’s heart-warming to see the momentum building. We are confident that Team GB will go far. Unfortunately, the day ended a little sooner due to an accident. Thankfully, the rider is doing well and recovering fast”.
