Talviku battles through the pain at Oakhanger

Jörgen-Matthias Talviku and the SC Sport Homes Husqvarna team were back in action at the opening round of the British Championship and the day was going well for Talviku after finishing second in the opening race.

In the second moto, the young Estonian collided with another rider and despite being in pain managed to finish eight to salvage fourth overall. However, it’s been revealed that he has a fracture in his T3 vertebrae!

Talviku posted the following update on social media:

“First round of British championship done. Pole position in time practice and finished in 2nd in the first race, which I was happy about. Second race I collided with another rider on the first lap after a bad start, which ended having fracture in my T3 vertebrae. Still managed to finish the race and missed a podium by point”.

“It was an awesome feeling to be back at the races after all the hard work we had in offseason time. Real shame what happened in the second race and I couldn’t do much in that situation. Getting injured is definitely the worst side of our sport, but I will give my best to come back stronger and asap! I will keep you guys posted! Thanks to everyone, who are on my side”.
