Sexton – the race to feel comfortable on KTM!

Chase Sexton admitted the rumours were true and it has been a difficult couple of months trying to find the comfort he wants on the KTM, and amazingly, he only got there a week before A1 that saw him take a pressure relieving third place.

A candid Sexton said: “It’s been a different off-season switching bikes and getting to know something quite a bit different than I was on before.

“That takes a lot to get used to and we had out struggles. The last week or so we have been moving in the right direction and tonight definitely I feel like we are going in the right direction, so that’s a positive.

“I knew coming in I was going to be a little bit not where I want to be, but I went out there to salvage what I could and try and get better.

“We want to keep building and keep improving, it’s a long season but we can’t lolligag too much, we got to start clicking off wins and get battling up there.

“A couple weeks if you’d seen me you’d have went, ‘this guy is not doing very good at A1.’ But I feel like progress we made in the last couple of weeks, just getting more comfortable. I ride a lot on feel, which everyone does, but especially me. When I feel connected to the bike and the track I can really go fast and we are getting there.

“The teams been awesome, they have thrown everything at it and they work their butt’s off.”

With Jett winning already, Sexton has no time to waste on finding that last couple of per cent of comfort to challenge the SMX champ.

The pressure is still on.
