Rumour: The Coenen Brothers heading to BT Husqvarna in 2022?

Looking at the new generation and talent emerging coming through the EMX125 class, the Coenen Brothers from Belgium look like the real deal. This season was a real break out season for the pair and they’re now regarded as two big prospects in the future.

Both Brothers were on the same team this year – the French based, 9MM Bud Racing Kawasaki team. Despite a tough start to the season for Lucas picking up a collarbone injury at the opening round at Matterley Basin, he was in superb form towards the end of the season as he won five moto’s from a possible six at the final three rounds eventually coming home third in the championship.

As for Sacha who started the season more positive than his brother an injury ruled him out towards the end of the season but he had some superb speed and won a moto in Germany. If it wasn’t for some crashes and rookie mistakes he could have been a consistent podium guy.

Looking ahead to the 2022 season, it looks like both Brothers are on the move and will leave the 9MM Bud Racing Kawasaki team. We believe they’ll sign a deal with the BT Husqvarna and have already started testing for the season ahead.

Lucas is expected to make the move up to the EMX250 series with Sacha expected to stay in the EMX125 class for one more year – he’ll go into the season as one of the favourites.

We will bring you more news on their future as we hear more.
