Young French talent, Maxime Grau burst onto the GP scene back in 2021 after inking a deal with the Nestaan Husqvarna team. Before that he actually only raced one EMX125 round but secured a top ride to contest the EMX250 series in 2021.

However, since then he’s had to deal with Epstein–Barr virus and then after recovering from that has had a number of injuries. After Nestaan Husqvarna, Grau has had spells with BT Husqvarna and started the 2024 season VHR GasGas but his time with the team was short as German based team, WZ KTM decided to snap him up and he lined up for them at the second round of the EMX250 series.

Grau was having a solid season but unfortunately picked up a knee injury which meant he has missed the final five rounds of the EMX250 series.

We understand for the 2025 season that Grau will still be part of the WZ KTM team but won’t be racing the EMX250 series. Instead we believe, the young French rider will make the jump up to the MX2 World Championship.

It’ll be a rookie season for Grau racing the best 250cc riders in the world and whilst he has good potential for the future he’ll be hoping to stay injury free for the entire season to put his injury troubles fully behind him.

The WZ KTM team are also expected to line up with two EMX250 riders as well as a team mate for Grau in the MX2 World Championship.

We’ll bring you more news as it is available.
