Rumour: Emil Weckman secures an MX2 GP ride for 2024?

With the SR Motoblouz Honda team deciding to fully focus on the MXGP World Championship in 2024, it has meant that young Finn, Emil Weckman has been searching for a ride within the GP paddock to take on the MX2 World Championship next year.

Weckman showed good things this year with the SR Motoblouz Honda despite having stock machinery which isn’t easy in the MX2 World Championship but he had a number of top ten results.

We believe that Weckman has finally secured a ride for the 2024 season and will be under the Schmicker KTM awning for the upcoming season. The German based team ran William Kleemann this year in the MX2 World Championship and the Dane is also expected to stay.

For Weckman it will be his last year racing the MX2 World Championship due to the U23 age rule so he’ll be eager to post strong results in MX2 to secure an MXGP ride in 2025.
