It was only this year that the Racestore KTM team become the officially supported KTM EMX125 team as before 2024 they focused on the MX2 World Championship. So far, it has been a great year for the team because with one round to go Gyan Doensen has the championship lead.
Doensen will be hoping to turn his red plate into gold at the final round of the EMX125 series but there’s only six points in it between him and Noel Zanocz. It would be a great achievement for the Racestore KTM team to win the title their first year being part of the official KTM setup.
The team also have young Italian and EMX125 rookie, Nicolò Alvisi under the awning. Despite an injury disrupting his season he has improved a lot over the course of the season. He’ll be expected to be a consistent front runner in the class next year.
With Doensen moving up to the EMX250 series in 2025, the team have been on the look out to sign up another ride for the 2025 season and we believe that will be young Hungarian talent, Áron Katona. Like Alvisi he is an EMX125 rookie this year but has showed good potential on the 125cc.
Despite being a rookie, Katona sits eighth in the championship which is a very solid first season racing as part of the GP paddock and as a privateer.
We understand that Katona will be under the Racestore KTM awning in 2025 partnering Alvisi in what would be a strong rider line up to contest the EMX125 championship. Doensen might be big shoes to fill but with another strong off season on the 125cc, Katona will be looking to be a front runner in the EMX125 series in 2025.
