Lotte van Drunen had travelled to America to contest the Mini O’s event, something she also did last year. However, whilst riding in America, the Dutch talent has picked up an injury and has actually already travelled home to undergo surgery.
The WMX World Champion has revealed she has broke her ankle in three places so she will be out of action for a while.
With the first WMX round taking place on the 6th of April she has got plenty of time to recover but she now won’t have a full off-season to prepare for the 2025 season. She is in a similar position to her last off season but that still didn’t stop her winning the world title this year.
Van Drunen posted the following update on social media:
Unfortunately back home, very disappointed! I broke my ankle in 3 places yesterday afternoon. After the X-ray we were immediately able to take the first plane back, now waiting for surgery.
I am so sorry for the great team NSA Factory Yamaha team who was having me, thanks for all the good care and trust. Big thanks to MTF MX for your quick action and good care! Thank you Monster Energy for bringing me home this quick. Also thanks to Fox Moto and Yamaha Racing Official for all the help.
