The mud was back for the second week in a row but it was at least more raceable in San Diego and it’s now three winners in three different races!

The first lap was chaos with Ken Roczen taking holeshot and Chase Sexton on the deck with Malcolm Stewart. Jett Lawrence had a terrible start and then Eli Tomac collided with Christian Craig and he had to come from last!

Aaron Plessinger then caught Roczen but before he could make the pass, Roczen threw it away and had to come into the mechanics area for repairs putting him to the back of the pack!

Cooper Webb made his way into second and tried to catch Plessinger getting close twice but mistakes hurt him at the end, including contact with Chase Sexton who they were lapping having already lapped Eli Tomac.

Jett Lawrence worked his way up to fourth in a truly crazy race!

AP, who now has the red plate by one point over Sexton and four over Lawrence, said: “Aw man, it felt great. It felt like it should. I got in the zone and started clicking off laps. I saw Coop coming but I’m not sure what happened, I heard the crowd and it wasn’t for me! It was great, I enjoyed it so much, I was having so much fun out there. It feels good knowing everyone is chasing the cowboy around!”

Nate Thrasher ran down RJ Hampshire and then leader Garrett Marchbanks to take an exciting 250 race win with all three nose to tail on the final lap! That was until the final couple of turns when RJ Hampshire binned it in third letting Jordon Smith onto the podium and very a costly mistake in the championship!

Hampshire ended up sixth just behind Levi Kitchen who crashed early in the race challenging Hampshire for the lead.
