Results: MXGP of Russia timed qualifying – Herlings pole!

Jeffrey Herlings took his time to get his flow in the 25 minute qualifying session, even having a tip-over! But the Red Bull KTM rider gradually found his rhythm, getting faster with each lap before sticking it on pole just ahead hard-pack specialists, Tim Gajser and Romain Febvre.

Jorge Prado was fourth but just 6 tenths off despite his bike breaking down as he went to do a final flying lap. Pauls Jonass was fast in fifth on great debut on the Gas Gas.
