Results: Daytona qualifying – Sexton shows the speed

Chase Sexton was the fastest in every session at Daytona to qualify fastest for the night show – so can he finally execute the win tonight?! Ken Roczen showed his potential in both qualfying sessions and it was the Suzuki rider who ultimately got closest to Sexton’s time, fourth tenths back in second with Anderson third, Tomac a late lap tp go fourth and RJ Hampshire showing impressive speed on his 450 debut to qualify fifth – just imagine where Jett Lawrence would be!

Dylan Ferrandis qualified 13th but has withdrawn from the event due to his crash from yesterday during media day. And, after a crash during qualifying today, Colt Nichols has also been ruled out of tonight’s racing.

In the 250 class it was Hunter Lawrence, who like Chase, was fastest in every session despite a crash in the final session. Hunter regrouped and put in two back to back laps that would have seen both good enough for the top time, underlining the fact he isn’t even on the edge to put in the laps no-one else can match.
