Joey Savatgy took the win in Adelaide to strengthen his title chances but it was all too much for an emotional Dean Wilson who broke down in tears after the fnal moto as he feels his title shot is fading as he revealed the personal reasons why he wanted to successfully defend the Aussie title so badly.
An emotional and open Dean Wilson said: “Round 4 of @aussupercross in the books. Tough one to take as I knew it was important to win this round to stay close to the title hunt. I was in a great position for it & Unfortunately I fell short. I blew it in race 3 with a last place start & finished 6th. Disappointed in myself, No ones fault but my own fault. P-2 on the night with a 3-1-6-1. I unfortunately broke down a bit at the end of the night, I guess it was just built up inside me & it came pouring out at that time & I couldn’t control it. I feel like a little bitch being upset but this championship meant something to me as I wanted to win it for my parents who are both batteling cancer & I felt like I blew it & that’s why I lost it a bit. I’m grateful for everyone around me & I still get to race my bike with my family with me around the world, But hey it’s life & its racing. 1 more round to go in Melbourne 8 points back. Thank you all for the love and support as always. “
