Results and report: Oakland supercross

It was deja vu for Chase Sexton as he crashes out of the lead again while having a five second lead over Eli Tomac in the second half of the main event!

Sexton, Tomac and Webb got out 1-2-3 but Webb couldn’t hang with the front two and was, at one point, 13 seconds behind Sexton.

Just as it looked like Chase broke Eli, he almost went down on the dragon back then didn’t go down a couple of sections later!

He remounted in second 4-5 seconds behind Tomac but Webb now had Sexton on his sights and ran him down to take second with two laps to go! Tomac looked secure out front with about a 4 second gap until he made a mistake on the final lap and Webb got to his back tyre by the final turn but just wasn’t close enough to force a pass as Tomac took his fourth win of the year.

But all three are still in the hunt for the title and are on a different level to the rest right now. Tomac, who has a 7 point lead over both Webb and Sexton, said: “That race track was very, very tough. I expected people to make mistakes. I should have thrown it away but held onto it.That was a good rebound from last weekend.”

Jett Lawrence continued his domination of the 250 West coast as he cruised to a 15 second lead after race leader Hampshire crashed yet again just as Lawrence moved into second ahead of McAdoo after the PC Kawasaki rider messed up in a rhythm section. That gifted Jett the lead as the Aussie proceeded to put on a riding clinic for the rest of the field.

McAdoo and Pierce Brown got into a block pass battle for third, but that ended when Brown went down after losing his balance when pinned high in the berm by McAdoo, securing McAdoo third place.
