Race One: The first moto was a cracker! It was Lucas Coenen who executed the start as he led coming out of turn one and Jeffrey Herlings was able to get a good start.

Herlings was able to stay with Coenen and even applied some pressure but then Romain Febvre, who didn’t get a good start was really on a charge. He was able to catch and pass Herlings before setting his sights on Coenen but the Belgian responded – despite getting arm pump after the second lap to bring home a very impressive race win. If the pair get away in race two it could be fireworks!

Herlings will be happy with his third – only eight seconds off and the pace was high at the front so he is improving.

Maxime Renaux held off Jeremy Seewer for fourth with Andrea Bonacorsi a solid sixth.

Race Two: The second moto – wow!! It was a titanic battle between youth V experience! Coenen held the early lead from Febvre as the pair set a very high pace at front of the pack.

Coenen made a mistake which meant he didn’t give the drive on one of the uphills which allowed Febvre to get past but Coenen wasn’t done. The determined Belgian was right on his back wheel on the last lap and there was only half a second in it. To the delight of the French crowd, Febvre got the job done but he had to work hard!

Seewer rode a superb race to come home in third on his Ducati to bring home a podium. Isak Gifting rode a superb race on his JK Yamaha coming home in fourth ahead of Herlings.

Herlings made a costly mistake which meant he lost a few positions and that cost him a podium but the pace is coming back slowly but surely.
