Race One: Sacha Coenen appears to love it in Turkey. The Belgian got the holeshot and never looked back as he simply dominated.
It was all going on behind him though. Kay de Wolf got a good start in second and Simon Längenfelder was third going into turn two but then lost a couple of spots.
On a track that was hard to pass on, Längenfelder finally got into second and then caught de Wolf for second but the reigning MX2 world champion responded to gain another two championship points.
Everts looked comfortable in fourth but then made a mistake and the battle for fourth was intense between a host of riders.
In the end, Valin finally passed Farres to bring home a solid fourth on his Factory KRT machine.
Race Two: The second moto was a superb watch! It was Farres who held the early lead from Coenen with Längenfelder in third and de Wolf fifth – roles were reversed as for the first time all weekend the German got out in front of Nestaan Husqvarna rider.
Längenfelder was able to make moves on Coenen and Farres and at one stage had a lead of around eight seconds – but then he then had a small crash which allowed Farres and de Wolf close the gap. De wolf then passed Farres and went after the German in what was a fantastic watch but Längenfelder held on to take the win and the overall win – the 9th GP win of his career but the most important one to date. There’s now 12 points in the championship race.
Farres rode great to bring home third but Coenen finished fourth which was enough for third overall.
