Race One:

Nicholas Lapucci grabbed the holeshot and controlled things at the front during the opening EMX250 moto as his title challengers didn’t get good starts.

Yago Martinez was riding great in second and put the pressure on Lapucci in the opening stages but the Italian then gapped him towards the end.

It was a great battle for third between Oriol Oliver, Andrea Bonacorsi and Hakon Fredriksen on the last lap. Fredriksen was trying to pass Oliver for third but hit the back of him to end up fifth ahead of Kevin Horgmo.

Rick Elzinga was outside the top twenty but rode well to come back to eighth. Liam Everts crashed during practice and hurt his shoulder so isn’t in action today.

Race Two:

It turned out to be the perfect day for Nicholas Lapucci as another holeshot in race two put him in a great position and he didn’t disappoint the Italian fans. Kevin Horgmo took a better start in race two but a mistake on the opening lap saw him lost a couple of positions to his fellow Norwegians.

Hakon Fredriksen made a couple of passes on the opening lap but couldn’t close down the gap to Lapucci but can still be happy with his third overall and another podium.

Oriol Oliver had a great day going 3-3 for second overall and his first podium of the year for him – a good way to end a challenging season for the young Spaniard but he looks more comfortable on the WZ KTM.

Heading into the final round on Tuesday, Lapucci now has one hand on the title as five more championship points will secure him of the title.
