Race One: It might be a man made track but the KymiRing is already rough and providing plenty of passing opportunities which is good to see. Nicolo Alvisi was able to quickly get to the front and pulled away at the front of the field to dominate but behind him there were all sorts of battles going on!

Mano Faure didn’t get the best of starts but could work his way into second. The problem was Alvisi was gone by the time time he did.

Douwe van Mechgelen had a superb ride and was emotional after the race as he brought home third in front of his team mate, Francesco Bellei. Dani Heitink didn’t get a good start but had a storming ride back to fifth – he just ran out of time.

Jarne Bervoets was solid in sixth on his MJC Yamaha.

Race Two: As usual for 2025, there was an overnight storm but the track was still in decent condition and rough after not too much track prep.

Alvisi just like in race one didn’t take too much time to get to the front. However, Bervoets was flying and loving the rough conditions, the Belgian made a number of passes and then made a move on Alvisi for the lead. However, Alvisi took a couple of laps to regroup himself and then passed Bervoets back before pulling away to take a dominate win.

Faure had a crash before getting back to third and that’s where it looked like it would finish. However, he passed Bervoets around the last corner to get an important second – it means he’s only 6 points off Alvisi with one round to go in the brutal Lommel.

Bervoets was a corner away from a podium but the pass cost him – Bellei ended up on the box in third overall after finishing fourth in race two. Oppliger had a strong ride to round out the top five.

Lommel is set to be a cracker with the champion being crowned.
