Qualifying race results: MXGP World Championship RD1 – Argentina

It was Tim Gajser who grabbed the holeshot in the MXGP qualifying race as there was chaos around the first couple of corners.

It saw the likes of Geerts, Van Doninck, Gilbert, Fernandez Gifting and Coldenhoff involved which was a real shame. Van Doninck didn’t look in a good way as he got stretchered away – hopefully the rest are injury free.

At the front, Gajser had things under control from Romain Febvre who was second and looking content with his position as well.

Pauls Jonass was riding very well on his Standing Construct Honda finishing third which is great to see.

Maxime Renaux and Jorge Prado were battling before the Spaniard was able to make an aggressive move for fourth.

Herlings who was battling with Seewer and the impressive Monticelli caught Renaux at the end but couldn’t make a move and had to settle for sixth. Monticelli rode great for eighth on his Beta.

Ben Watson rode really well for eleventh – just one position short of scoring a championship point.
