Simon Laengenfelder grabbed the holeshot and was looking good at the front of the pack but then heavy rain started to fall with gusty winds making the last five minutes very very tricky for the riders. The track was very slick and slippery making things risky but Everts was on the charge in second and caught the German but the GasGas rider held on for the win. Andrea Adamo had a disaster on the opening lap running into the back of Everts leaving him with plenty of work to do, he managed to get into tenth before Mc Lellan passed him on the very last lap.
