Prado looking forward to Southwick – can he win in the sand?

Jorge Prado had his best performance of his difficult outdoor season at Southwick last year on the Kawasaki and looked to be on for a podium until a late race crash. Now, Prado is back on the KTM and coming off a podium at Red Bud that saw him holeshot both motos and almost win moto two, the perfect tonic as the Spaniard heads to his second year of racing at the Wick.

Jorge said: I think Southwick, it’s the softest or sandiest race we have here in the US. I’m usually a very good sand rider so yeah, I’m looking forward to next weekend. I think I have a lot of experience racing sand so that will help and hopefully we keep improving and  we can have a good race next weekend.”

With MXGP world championship leader, Lucas Coenen, added to the mix along with the Lawrence brothers and Haiden Deegan, who was practicing at Southwick a couple of weeks ago, the pace at the front will ne very high but Jorge will certainly expect to be on the box and a win is certainly not out of the question.
