Philip McCullough leaves role as Irish MXoN team manager

Philip McCullough has exclusively told GateDrop.com that he has left his role as Team Manager of Ireland for the Motocross Des Nations event. Last night, McCullough had put forward his team to be selected for this years event heading to Mantova (something a team manager should have total control over).

Since 2016 when McCullough first took on the role there’s been a five minute discussion over this proposal but it wasn’t so straight forward this year. After over half an hour there still hadn’t been an agreement so McCullough decided to hand in his resignation.

McCullough had Martin Barr and Stuart Edmonds selected for the MXGP and Open slots which were accepted but his recommendation for the MX2 slot wasn’t accepted.

As of yet there’s still officially been no team selected but Barr and Edmonds are likely to be selected leaving the MX2 rider up in the air.

We will continue to keep you updated as and when we know more.
