The 2026 Chinese Grand Prix, the seventeenth round of the FIM Motocross World Championship MXGP, is set to welcome a debut that could mark a historic moment for international motocross.
At the Shanghai round, JHL Moto will make its official debut in the MXGP World Championship, becoming the first Chinese motorcycle manufacturer to line up on the grid of the world’s premier motocross championship.
For this important debut, JHL Moto has chosen to partner with Brian Hsu, the experienced Taiwanese rider who will take to the track aboard the JHL LX350R.
For Brian Hsu, this event represents much more than a sporting challenge. His Taiwanese background, his ability to speak Chinese and his experience within the Asian motorcycle scene make his participation particularly meaningful for JHL Moto and the Chinese public.
“For me, this goes beyond the purely sporting side of things. There is also a cultural and, in some ways, political aspect to it, because as a Taiwanese rider I am considered by many people in China as one of their own. For JHL Moto, this is a historic moment: it will be the first time a Chinese motorcycle competes in the MXGP World Championship, and for them this is a very important milestone.”
Brian has already had the opportunity to ride the JHL LX350R during his previous experience in China, gaining positive impressions of the project and confirming the good feelings he had from the very first tests.
“I had the chance to ride the bike during my previous experience in China and I felt very comfortable on it. I believe it has a lot of potential. What impressed me most was the overall quality of the project. The level of the bike is very good, and I believe it has all the characteristics needed to represent an important step forward for JHL Moto.”
The Shanghai debut will therefore represent a significant milestone not only for JHL Moto, but also for the Chinese motorcycle industry as a whole, as it marks the first official appearance of a Chinese motorcycle manufacturer on the world motocross stage through the MXGP World Championship.
