Emil Weckman spent his last season racing the MX2 World Championship with the Schmicker KTM team but he has a new challenge for the 2025 season as he’ll make the move up to the 450cc.
It has now been revealed that the young Finn will race a Yamaha in 2025 after inking a deal with the SHR Motorsports Yamaha team. The main focus will be on the ADAC MX Masters championship but the plan is also to contest selected MXGP World Championship events.
Weckman raced the bigger bike at the 2024 MXoN at Matterley Basin with limited bike time but he’ll now be fully focued on the bigger bike moving forward.
“I’m really happy to achieve this opportunity from Steffen. He is a really great person and I look forward to work with the team and make some great results. Now I still have good time to work on the bike before the first races”, Weckman told GateDrop.com.
