Official: De Baets and AIT Racing join forces for 2026

The De Baets MX Team and AIT Racing will be joining forces for the 2026 season. The De Baets MX Team recently completed its line-up for next season, but Vencislav Toshev will now be added in the EMX250 class – all riders will run Yamaha machinery.

The team line-up is therefore as follows:

• Lotte van Drunen (WMX)
• Dex Kooiker (EMX125)
• Torre van Mechgelen (EMX125)
• Cole McCullough (EMX250)
• Vencislav Toshev (EMX250)

In recent years, AIT Racing has been led by former Grand Prix rider Petar Petrov. He will remain active within the team and will bring a wealth of experience that all riders can benefit from.

The entire team is already fully focused on preparations for the new season. Everything is progressing well, and the riders are determined to lay a strong foundation for the season ahead.

Petar Petrov:

I am excited to go together with Danny (de Baets). We have been talking for a few months and things came together well. We can both make a good step in the right direction. It is nice to have Lotte who is a two times world champion and will go for a third world title, it’s special. Having Toshev and McCullough in the EMX250 class – these are two guys new to the class but I think both can show some good potential. Kooiker and Van Mechgelen can also make some good results in the EMX125 class.

We have quite a big team but I’m looking forward to the season to show some good results. My role won’t change that much as I’ll be the team manager of the team, so this is good. We are happy to work with Yamaha and happy for the new season to start.
