Coming into the 2025 season, Norwegian rider Håkon Østerhagen signed with AIT Racing to contest the EMX250 championship. Seen as one of the brightest young prospects from Scandinavia, the deal was an exciting move with both parties hoping to make a strong impact on the highly competitive series.
While Østerhagen showed flashes of his potential with impressive speed at times, consistency proved to be the missing piece. The results ultimately didn’t match the expectations, and as the season has developed, it has now been officially confirmed that AIT Racing and Østerhagen will go their separate ways.
The future for the talented Norwegian is not yet clear, with no announcement on his next step.
The following statement broke the news:
AIT Racing and Hakon Osterhagen will not continue their collaboration. With two rounds left in the EMX250 Championship, their partnership comes to a premature end.
Osterhagen is currently in twenty-first place in the championship and has managed to secure three top-ten finishes so far.
This weekend, during the penultimate round of the championship in Arnhem, the team will line up with Vencislav Toshev in the EMX250 series.
