The Motocross des Nations is a superb event and always an exciting way to round out the end of the MX season. The Netherlands held the event at Assen in 2019 which was the last big Motocross race at the location.

The Dutch GP has took place in Arnhem the past two seasons but Assen may make a return to the future as the MXoN may head back there in 2027.

We already know the MXoN will be heading back to America next year at Ironman and then back to Ernee, France for 2026. But the event may head back to the Netherlands in 2027.

Organiser Lee van Dam, has told Dutch media, RTV Drenthe, he is hopeful of running the big event at Assen again.

“We have been asked by the international motorsport federation FIM and the rights holder of the MXGP world championship Infront to organize the Motocross of Nations again. That is a great honour. It only depends on the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport. We are waiting for a subsidy to be awarded”, van Dam stated.

It would be great news for Dutch Motocross as well as the Dutch team who won their only MXoN event at home in Assen in front of the king. A day that will never be forgotten for the Dutch.
