PIETRAMURATA (Trentino, Italy) 17th April 2026 – The 2026 MXGP FIM Motocross World Championship holds its fifth round this weekend amongst the spectacular mountains of northern Italy, as the “Il Ciclamino” circuit hosts the MXGP of Trentino, marking the end of the first quarter of the 2026 series!
Lucas Coenen has strengthened his Championship lead in MXGP for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, but the chasing pack will hope that his below average record at this circuit gives them a chance to catch up. Honda HRC Petronas pairing of Tom Vialle and Jeffrey Herlings, have seven GP victories between them here, but new Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP rider Tim Gajser has the most ever Trentino wins with six, and he can count on massive crowd support as his Slovenian fans always make the journey to get behind him!
Reigning MX2 World Champion Simon Längenfelder has won three of the four rounds so far to stand on top of the table, and he is looking for his first Trentino overall victory, as is fellow Red Bull KTM Factory Racing pilot Sacha Coenen in his chase from second. Liam Everts is the only rider in MX2 with a winner’s trophy from this track, and he is third in the points for Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing.
