Mitch Payton interested in taking Kay de Wolf to America in the future?

Steve Matthes says Mitch Payton has taken notice of new MX2 world champion the Dutch super talent, Kay de Wolf.

The man who clinched his first world title in Spain last weekend with Nestaan Husqvarna, on the day he turned 20, has already publicly expressed an interest in racing supercross at some point in his career and now it looks like one of the biggest teams in America may have an interest in taking him to the USA at some point. Matthes stated: “The guy at the pipe shop in Corona, California told me he’s very interested in the Wolf coming to USA.”

So, would it be next year? It doesn’t seem likely with Kay set to stay in GP’s for 25 but maybe it could become something in the future and there may be a decision, like Prado has had to take recently, about where De Wolf wants to go with his professional career going forward, GP’s or America.

Matthes added in another tweet: “I would say KTM won’t let him go but with all the guys they have, the financial issues they’re having, you never know. And, in another reply to a fan said: “Yeah, I’m not talking next year. Just sometime.”

It looks like De Wolf is living in a land of opportunity, whether he wants to stay in MXGP (he could be sensational on a 450) or look to race in the US with a team manager like Mitch Payton admiring his skills. It’s a win/win situation for someone as talented as De Wolf and quite the compliment from Mitch Payton for De Wolf to hear – you know you are doing something right if Mitch Payton thinks you are worth hiring!

De Wolf has the potential to be a superstar on either side of the pond, he is that good. But, in the meantime for De Wolf, he has the MXoN to focus on and the dutch have a big shot at that title with De Wolf, Herlings and Coldenhoff making a strong team that can contend for the win.
