Mewse on double win at Foxhill Fastest Forty

Conrad Mewse took two dominant race wins at Foxhill in the fastest 40 but told Jeff Perrett that he is only racing the clock this year and focusing on his own laps and not the other riders – and it worked perfectly today!

Mewse said: “This bike out of the gate is incredible. The track today is very tough and very hard to make time on. The main thing for me around here was to do the best laps I cam consistently and I felt that’s where I edged away towards the end. I kept racing the board, that’s all I focused on today was racing my own lap times.

Mewse also loved the hard pack, old-school blue groove of Foxhill! “It’s so technical and I love it you have to have so much throttle control. I found in qualifying I wasn’t riding the way the track would let me, you have to change way you ride a little bit. I found my feet at the end. The track can certainly catch you off guard, there are some horrible edges and ruts, that’s what mx is all about.

On his injury recovery, Mewse said: “I have been off a long time, I feel good for how long I have had off. No complications, I have done a fantastic job with my rehab team, I’ve been non-stop with that every single day. I have worked so hard with this injury.”
