Alessandro Lupino set tongues wagging at Pala after the unknown rider to many in America set a superb fifth fastest time in qualifying despite riding on a stock KTM with just his suspension and a pipe bolted on!
The races didn’t go as well thanks to a bike issue in race one creating a bad gate pick for the Italian in race two but he still caught and passed Anstie for 13th in an impressive AMA debut just a couple of weeks ahead of the world championship opener in Russia.
Lupino said on social media: “What amazing experience ! I had a lot of fun✌️P5 in time practice. DNF / P13 in the motos. Small problem on bike in the first moto! Hope to come back here in USA.”
