Lorenzo Ciabatti ends the season with JK Yamaha

Coming into the 2023 season, Lorenzo Ciabatti signed a deal with Italian based team, SM Action KTM to contest the MX2 World Championship. The Italian has been learning as much as he can racing the best in the world but has also had an injury issue.

However, Ciabatti has parted ways with the SM Action KTM team and will end the season racing with the JK Yamaha team. After parting ways with SM Action KTM, Ciabatti was set to be a privateer but then got the support from JK Yamaha to end the season which was good news.

He made his debut with the JK Yamaha team at the weekend contesting the Italian Championship and will now contest the final two MX2 World Championship rounds to end his season.

At the moment it’s not yet known if Ciabatti will stay with the team for the 2024 season but he’ll be hoping to race the MX2 World Championship again next year.

“Yes the relations with the SM team were not as I expected so I decided to end the season as a private rider but then I had some help from JK to end the season. At the moment I am focusing on ending my season on a high”, Ciabatti told GateDrop.com.
