Kevin Strijbos leaves Factory KRT

Since retiring from racing himself, Kevin Strijbos landed team training role for the Factory KRT team the past two years. Last year he worked with Ben Watson and Romain Febvre but this year he was fully focused working with Febvre – they won lots of GP’s together.

It remains to be seen what the Belgian will do in the future but hopefully he remains in the paddock.

Strijbos revealed the news via social media:

“As the season comes to an end so is my time with the Kawasaki MXGP crew. I’m very thankful for the opportunity they gave me 2 years ago. It was a nice experience and learned a lot over those years. We achieved great things together and it was a pleasure to work with all of them! Thank you very much. More news soon”.

On working with Romain Febvre…

“What to say about this guy! Romain Febvre. As I didn’t know how my trainer roll would go he trusted me and he was open minded to work with me. We didn’t get off to a good start with his leg injury but we showed everybody the we were a good team! I didn’t know Romain before in personal so i had no idea how it was going to be. But we got along really good and he became a very good friend over those 2 years. Besides the trainings we had so much fun, laughed a lot, even on race weekends. I’m proud of him how his season went, yes we got setbacks but he always gave 100% and that’s great to see so to get vice world champion and MXoN winner with team France we can not say it was a bad year! Thanks for your trust in those 2 years and cheers to the good times we had”.
