Ken Roczen – having more fun than ever!

Ken Roczen had a brilliant day at SMX battling Jett Lawrence hard in race one in a fight for sixth before pulling away and getting up to third then leading race two before Chase and then Jett passed the German late in the moto, but 3-3 was enough for second overall and great start to the series for the super talented German.

And Roczen, who said he didn’t really change his set-up from WSX at Villa Park for this hybrid race, told Gatedrop in the press conference that he might be having the most fun he ever had at this point in his career with the HEP Suzuki squad:

“Yeah, I feel like I am a completely different person. I feel extremely engaged and quite frankly maybe the most fun I have ever had. I am just not taking it for granted and have a fun group I am working with and they have given me a good bike and they have given me every once of their time, energy to get the bike to where I want it and so have I.

“So that combination, I may not be winning races as consistently as I have in the past but it’s really hard nowadays getting on the box, never mind winning races, but we led some laps again today. I am just really proud of the team and happy with where I am at this point so we are going to charge forward, build on this and hopefully be consistently be up on the podium, I just have more fun nowadays.”
