Ken Roczen eyeing up Matterley Basin MXoN

Speaking to Steve Matthes at Pulp MX, Ken Roczen who hadn’t raced the MXoN for a while before Ernee last year but was superb in France last year winning the MXGP overall, is keen on racing Matterley Basin next year. It’s nice to see him find his love for the event again.

The German is hoping to race the Unadilla National to prepare for the MXoN.

“I don’t know about three. I’m kind of shooting for Unadilla it’s not like a 100% thing yet but I think it’d be great to get a gate drop or two in because I’m also prepping myself for Motocross of Nations you know. So I don’t want to go – especially also into SMX like – I don’t want to go in cold turkey. I’m not worried about showing up and not having the intensity, but I still think it’d be good to get a get a gate drop in”, Roczen stated.

Germany could be really strong and even battle for the win if Max Nagl and Simon Längenfelder are selected to go with Roczen.

“For sure that I’ve been having my sight on that [event] for a long time, I really enjoyed last year… it was an experience. Obviously in the last few years like I haven’t attended. When was the last one before that? Maybe 2018 which was a disaster in RedBud. And then I went there last year and that was just an experience on a whole another level. Granted the venue isn’t very big anyways there but then with all the people… it’s just a very special, a very unique race and I enjoyed it a lot so I as soon as I was done with that last year I’m like man I want to come back next year especially since it is in Matterley Basin. That’s like one of my all time favorite tracks and I haven’t been there in ages. I really love that track and yeah I really want to go”, Roczen added.
