Roczen not using electric start – yet!

After showing the world the electric start device on his Suzuki during the week, Ken Roczen said in the SMX press conference that he won’t be using it yet in the races but Kyle Chisholm is still testing the device!

Roczen said: “Chiz is kind of our test rider, so it was on his Nike but it’s a a work in progress and we are testing it but we are not comfortable going anywhere with it unless we have about 20 hours of track time on it, we want to make sure it’s reliable and safe to use, so it’s really just testing time.”

Roczen also said he enjoys the Friday practice sessions at SMX because he has switched from Showa to Kayaba suspension. “It definitely gives you more time to mess around with the bike a little bit. I used to be on Showa from supercross and I have been on KYB, right after Ironman leading into the first SMX round, that’s the first time I was riding KYB stuff so don’t really have much testing time on it so it’s definitely good to get these Friday practices in and try to ser if he can improve but at the same time try not to overthink it.”
