Spanish team manager Paco Rico told Andy McKinstry in an exclusive interview that Jorge Prado was only taken off the team last week – showing just how close he was to racing the MXoN at Ironman!
Rico said: “Last week, I received a call from Jorge, and I had to replace him due to the situation with his current team – I cannot give details.“
Prado has since been replaced by 17 year old Francisco Garcia who has had some great rides in EMX250 this season and could surprise on the 450, with Rico saying of the rapidly rising talent: “Honestly, I believe Francisco has huge potential, and I’m sure he will be the next Spanish rider to reach the World Championship as a professional rider on a factory team.“
Spain’s current leading rider might be out but America will get a look at a star of the future as he joins former AMA rider Guillem Farres and HRC factory Honda rider, Ruben Fernandez on team Spain!
