Jett Lawrence spoke to the media about the benefits of getting some supercross style testing on the 2025 Honda ahead of the 2025 supercross season as well as the carrot of becoming the 2024 SMX champ against his brother and Chase Sexton in what is a winner-take-all scenario at this last round in Vegas!
2025 Honda
The bike has been handling amazing lately. We have kind of been stuck with the same setting for the past few rounds and making a few minor changes to it which is really nice and yeah, getting on this bike early, especially, mainly, for supercross. We did a lot of testing on the 25 for outdoor stuff with chassis and stuff like that so we are getting an early start with that and Trey (Canard) has been riding supercross too to see how it is on that and see what we need to do for settings and what engine mounts work and stuff like that. We have got a bit of a head start on it. I’m really looking forward to it in supercross.
SMX Showdown
I’m buzzin’ to go out there. It has little more pressure on it. I think, honestly, it makes it more exciting. I think it brings out the best of everyone. I feel like when you have big points lead, we would all rather that because it makes it less stressful, but, even then, you don’t ride the same and for the fans it’s a lot more boring too. I think it just adds that bit of excitement and I think the adrenaline rush is even more that the previous rounds, I think it’s more exciting and hopefully we can use the experience we have had in our championship runs, we will see.
