Video: Jago Geerts injured

Jago Geerts only managed to make it out of turn one before, for the third time in 18 months, another rider made a mistake in front of him and took the innocent Geerts down with him!

It is rumoured the poor Belgian has suffered a broken arm, with Yamaha saying:

“Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP’s rookie Jago Geerts sustained an injury to his left arm after a heavy fall on the second lap and was transported to Bariloche Hospital for closer assessment. An update on his condition will be shared on www.Yamaha-Racing.com when available.”

Hopefully the update isn’t as bad as the rumour, but if it weren’t for bad luck Geerts would have none at all!

Tom Vialle crashed while leading in the title deciding final moto of the year in 2022 which should have given Geerts the title, but Geerts was already in the rut and crashed into Vialle and Vialle got up first and won!

Geerts then crashed on his own in France and broke his wrist while dominating the series, came back and was still in title contention when Osterhagen crashed over a jump on lap one with Geerts again committed and nowhere to go, endinb his world title dream – and now this on his first MXGP race out of turn one! Three injuries in less than 12 months is rough.

See the crash below, with Geerts in blue on the inside of turn one having nowhere to go…
