A weekend full of emotions and twists crowned Isak Gifting, the Swedish rider of Team JK Yamaha Racing from Monsummano Terme, 2025 Italian MX1 Champion with one round to spare, at the penultimate stop of the Italian Motocross Prestige Pro Series.
An international-flavoured success that rewards the meticulous work of the Tuscan team and marks a historic milestone for both the rider and the squad.
A difficult Saturday, a perfect Sunday
The weekend began under the worst conditions: bad weather forced the organisers to completely cancel Saturday’s programme. But on Sunday, thanks to a clear improvement in the weather, the track returned to optimal condition, also thanks to the impeccable work of Moto Club Trasimeno, which managed to recover the entire programme, offering over ten hours of racing to a large and passionate crowd.
Race 1: Gifting’s total domination from start to finish
Gifting arrived at the gate aware of his potential. In Race 1 he took the holeshot and immediately set a pace that none of his rivals could match. He rode with authority, clarity, and precision, keeping control for the entire moto and crossing the finish line as a lone winner.
Race 2: holeshot and a march toward the title
In Race 2, Gifting again left nothing to chance: he took the holeshot and launched into another display of strength, dominating until the chequered flag. Behind him, the battle for the podium raged, but he was untouchable, showing complete technical and mental superiority.
The twist and the championship win
Thanks in part to a double retirement from the championship leader, Gifting’s double victory mathematically secured him the 2025 Italian MX1 title with one round still to go. It is the Swede’s first national title, but also a hugely prestigious result for Team JK Yamaha Racing, who reap the rewards of a season carried out with professionalism, passion, and commitment.
A golden triumph
Isak Gifting’s success represents not only a personal achievement but also great recognition for the entire Monsummano Terme-based team, which has invested resources and expertise in high-level motocross for years. An unforgettable day for Italian motocross, celebrating a new champion and a team that continues to write important chapters in this discipline.
Manuel Iacopi dominates MX2 Fast and strengthens his lead
It wasn’t only Gifting who brought joy to the Tuscan team: in the MX2 Fast class, local rider Manuel Iacopi (Yamaha) enjoyed a perfect weekend, winning both motos and taking the overall victory in Umbria with authority. A top-level performance that confirms his strong form and further consolidates his position at the top of the championship standings.
Iacopi managed both races with intelligence and determination, showing great harmony with his bike and ever-increasing sporting maturity. His success added to the extraordinary Sunday for Team JK Yamaha Racing, which achieved a winning double in MX1 and MX2 Fast, underlining the quality and depth of the squad.
Rider and team manager reactions
Isak Gifting:
“Today I rode well, the feeling with the bike was incredible and the track was really nice, like a GP track. I never thought about the championship, only on the last lap did they signal to me that I was winning the title and I was over the moon with the result, it meant so much to me. The only thing I regret is that there wasn’t the battle with Pancar, who was very unlucky today. That’s not how I dreamed of winning, I would have preferred to do it after a good fight with him on the track. In Race 2 I even stopped during the sighting lap to see if I could help him, but there was nothing to be done.”
Riccardo Boschi, Team Manager JK Yamaha Racing:
“It was an extraordinary weekend, one of those you hardly forget. We knew we had the potential to do well, but coming home with an Italian title already secured in MX1 and with victory in MX2 Fast is beyond all expectations. Isak rode two perfect motos, showing all his value and constant growth throughout the season. Manuel raced with intelligence and determination, confirming himself as the leader in his category. This double success is the result of the entire team’s work – from the mechanics to the technical staff – and of Yamaha’s trust in us. We are proud to represent Monsummano Terme and Italy at the highest level. Now we enjoy this moment, but we stay focused on the next equally important challenges.”
The next round of the Italian Motocross Prestige Pro Series MX1 and MX2 will take place on September 27–28 at Pietramurata.
