We caught up with former Grand Prix rider Jed Beaton to talk about, amazingly, his first MXoN for team Australia and find out what it is like for the popular Aussie to be back in the MXGP paddock for one weekend.
Jed said: “Yeah it was a good weekend, pretty solid for me, obviously if we had the boys here it would have been a lot better but, yeah I got to run the number one, it’s obviously a special thing and I mean it’s just an honour really to have the green and gold and the number one, yeah it felt good, I can’t complain too much with how I rode. It’s always hard to just come back to a GP or this high level of racing and just be there, I felt like in the first parts of the races I was quite good but then sort of faded off towards the end a little bit so, yeah, all in all quite good, so I can’t complain.
On coming back to the MXGP paddock Jed said it felt like he hadn’t been away:. “It feels like I know everyone here still. It’s been four or five years since I’ve been here but a lot of the people are the same and it feels sort of like coming home really, it’s just… yeah it’s nice.”
